In a generation of change that is looking to embrace diversity and social justice, it’s only natural to look back into the decades that somehow resemble those goals - the freedom and equality fights of the ’60s and ’70s. It’s no surprise that this macro trend of esoteric knowledge has increased during the pandemic as the world is turning to the vastness of the universe because it needs answers, hope, and some feeling of control (at least most Leos do!). But what makes this generation so obsessed with the alignment of planets, our zodiac signs, and its intricate traits? If we look closely, the answer may lie in the same reasons the Egyptians, Mayans, Chinese, Greeks, and most ancient civilizations had to look for answers in a very uncertain world. Astrology is a science, or maybe not? Because it has never been recognized as such by the scientific community, even though it has been around since the beginning of times when man decided to look up to the sky and study the movements of stars, and later on with new technologies that allowed us to closely watch the planets and every celestial body out there. Nope, that’s not a cheesy pick-up line anymore, it’s the real deal! At least for the youngest generation taking social media by storm, one zodiac meme and a Mercury retrograde warning at a time.
